The Benefits of Massage

Close your eyes & say "massage" just saying the word invokes a feeling of relaxation & calm ~ like you are on vacation somewhere.

Now imagine actually getting a massage. You feel yourself "melt" as anxiety disappears & the stresses of the outside would are gone. The hands of a professional take away the tension & stresses held in your body for so long. You go home that evening, crawl into bed & sleep like a baby.

Getting regular massages can feel like you are pampering yourself on a regular basis, but the therapeutic effects gained from massage are investments in your health. Work with your practitioner to find the schedule that best meets your needs.

Along with the obvious physical effects, massage has been shown to:

  • Decrease depression
  • Decrease stress & anxiety
  • Decrease muscle tightness aches and pains
  • Increase relaxation and quality of sleep
  • Increase circulation, energy, concentration & mental clarity

Contraindications for Massage Therapy

There are certain conditions that make Massage Therapy an inappropriate choice of treatment for certain individuals. Sometimes a condition is an absolute contraindication but more often than not, a skilled therapist can modify their treatment to accommodate the condition.

When a client completes an intake form, these issues may be addressed.
